The name Nabakothi came from 9 kothi, or houses having distinct ikat motif
Ikat weaving is an age old beautiful, complex, and labor intensive technique of resist dying to create patterns, and further yarns are tied to make in to groups to make knots building an overall pattern. Once dying process over, knots are opened to show pattern and then weaving process starts to bring out magical motif in incredible style.
Motifs are mainly inspired from nature, art, and architecture.
