Santhal Tribal Sarees

 

The Santhal cotton saree is composed of handwoven cotton fabric. The cotton used is of good quality and is woven by the Santhal tribal community in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha and neighbouring states like Jharkhand and West Bengal. Santhal Cotton Sarees have thick low thread count checks on the body with a jaal phuta floral/bird motif. The checks and motifs get woven using contrasting colours to create a beautiful pattern.
